Geosas Goalkeeper Academy is owned by Geovanny Salinas who started as a professional player at the age of 18. In the position of goalie, he played for eight different professional teams in Ecuador and Panama. He traveled and played throughout South American while on international tours with his respective teams.
The knowledge he has acquired throughout his years as a professional goalie, and now as an instructor, is reflected in the manner in which he teaches the basic principals a goalkeeper must possess as well as confidence, placement and good reflexes. He has an extensive repertoire of drills and training techniques which he utilizes in his training sessions.
Geovanny not only instructs, but also demonstrates proper technique affording young players a model and a visual frame of reference. In addition to the basic training and drills, Geovanny educates the player on the "position" of goalie and the mental preparation needed for game situations.
Geovanny has trained both male and females goalies from 8 years old up through and including college and professional players. He has worked with the Metro Stars Reserve Team, the Metro Stars Academy and has trained with the Metro Stars first team, in addition to coaching various club, high school and college teams. He currently holds a USSF National "B" license.
